Family Promise of BCS is volunteer-based โ the meals, the welcome, the steady presence that tells a family they're not alone all come from people right here in Bryan-College Station. There's a place for whatever you have to give.
Ways to serve
Some volunteers give one evening a month. Others are here every week. Both matter.
Cook or bring dinner and share it with the families staying with us. The most requested role we have โ and the easiest place to start.
Stay on site so a family always has a caring adult nearby through the night. Training provided.
Welcome families, answer the phone, organize donations, and keep our day center running.
Walk alongside a parent working toward a job, a budget, and a lease of their own.
Homework help, reading, games, and birthday celebrations โ so childhood keeps going.
Repairs, yard work, driving, photography, bookkeeping โ whatever you're good at, we can use.

No experience needed and no commitment yet โ this just starts the conversation. We'll follow up personally, usually within a couple of days.
Perfect. Most of our volunteers hadn't either. We'll show you everything.
Congregations, businesses, and student orgs serve together all the time โ just tell us below.

Partner congregations
The Family Promise model runs on local congregations working together โ providing meals, volunteers, and a community that surrounds each family with support. Churches, synagogues, and faith communities across Bryan-College Station already serve with us, and there's always room for one more.

๐ For the board: send us your congregation list and we'll build this into a proper directory page with logos and links.
