Privacy Policy
We're a two-person web studio, not an ad network. We collect the minimum we need to answer your question and build your site — nothing else. No tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and we have never sold anyone's data. Here's exactly what happens to the information you give us.
Who we are
SH Web Studio ("we", "us") is a web design studio run by Preston Supak and Dale Hott, based in Bryan–College Station, Texas. You can reach us any time at supakhottwebstudio@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
When you fill out the quote form
The form asks for your name, email address, what kind of project you need, and your project details. We use it for one thing: replying to you with a quote and next steps. Submissions are handled by Netlify Forms (our hosting provider) and emailed to us.
When you use the AI chat assistant
Whatever you type into the chat bubble is sent to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model that powers it, so it can generate a reply. Your conversation is also saved in your own browser's local storage so the thread is still there if you reload the page — that copy sits on your device, not on a server, and clearing your browser data removes it. Please don't type anything sensitive into it — it's a sales assistant, not a secure channel.
When you have a client account
Clients with a project in progress can get a login to follow their build. Those accounts are handled by Supabase, which stores your email address and an encrypted version of your password. We can't see your password. Sign-in is protected from bots by Cloudflare Turnstile.
When you just visit
Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, which page was requested) for security and troubleshooting. That's ordinary for any website and we don't use it to build a profile of you.
Analytics and advertising
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. We chose it specifically because of what it doesn't do: it sets no cookies, doesn't fingerprint your device, doesn't build a profile of you, and can't follow you to any other website. It records only aggregate basics — page URL, referrer, rough country, browser and device type. None of that identifies you, and we can't tie it to a person.
If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we skip loading it entirely.
We run no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no retargeting, no data brokers. If that ever changes, we'll say so here and update the date at the top of this page.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies — and our analytics sets none either. The only things stored in your browser are functional: your chat history (described above) and, if you have a client account, the session token that keeps you logged in.
Who your information goes to
Only the service providers that make the site work. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job:
- Netlify — hosting and form submissions.
- Anthropic — powers the AI chat assistant.
- Supabase — client account logins.
- Cloudflare — cookie-free visit counts, and bot protection on the login form.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces this site uses.
- Calendly — only if you choose to book a call.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only other time we'd hand anything over is if the law actually required it.
How long we keep it
Quote requests stay in our email so we have a record of the conversation. If a project doesn't go ahead and you'd rather we didn't keep it, just ask and we'll delete it. Client account data is kept while the account is open.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email supakhottwebstudio@gmail.com and we'll take care of it. You don't need to live in a particular state or country to ask; we'll honour the request either way. If you're covered by California's CCPA or the EU/UK GDPR, those laws give you these rights formally, including the right not to be discriminated against for using them.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, email us and we'll remove it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy, and passwords are stored encrypted by Supabase rather than by us. No system is perfect, but we don't hold much, which is the best protection there is.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Meaningful changes for existing clients will come by email too.
